Accommodation in Barcelona
Airbnb.com
Info: English
We've not tried this one ourselves, but lots of people looking for short stay accommodation in Barcelona have highly recommended Airbnb.
The California based company describes itself as "a trusted community marketplace for people to list, discover, and book unique accommodations around the world", which it says are at any price point, and in more than 33,000 cities and 192 countries.
People also tells us that it's a good place to rent out your accommodation, if you want to do that.

HabitatgeJove
- Info: English, Spanish, Catalan
The Generalitat-backed HabitatgeJove describes itself as a "housing
and accommodation service for young people and youth associations",
and offers searchable databases on flats and rooms to rent in Barcelona.
Generally functional and a good bet if you are looking for short- to mid-term, cheap accommodation in Barcelona.
Loquo
- Info: English, Spanish, Catalan
Loquo calls itself a "Barcelona community resource for flats,
freelance jobs, personals and events" and we include it in
our accommodation section because it's a popular site with students
studying Spanish at IH Barcelona, and on TEFL courses, who are looking
for accommodation.
- We liked: The neat, clean design
- Not so hot: Nobody wants to buy my ABBA LPs
oh-barcelona.com
- Info: English, Spanish, etc.
We were impressed by what we found on the oh-barcelona site, which
has a large selection of "holiday apartments in Barcelona"
(meaning apartments, shared flats and host families).
The ease of searching and finding the sort of thing you are looking for - by dates, by districts of the city, by number of people coming, by price - is also impressive.
Barcelona Connect
- Info: English
We're not overly impressed by Barcelona Connect as a city guide
but its classified ads section is a
popular one with people looking for rooms to rent. It's nice and
easy to use and seems to have produce good results.
