What sort of sites do we include on Barcelona Online?

• Sites that provide primary information on Barcelona – on such things as its museums and other places of interest to visitors to the city, including events taking place in the city
• Sites that are likely to prove interesting and/or useful to students at International House Barcelona, this site's sponsor – this could include, for example, accommodation, public transport, maps of the city, etc
• Sites relating to places outside Barcelona but which might nevertheless be interesting to IH students as places to visit – see our Outside Barcelona page for examples
• Sites of Barcelona-based concerns, which may in fact not directly relate to Barcelona – examples are to be found on our Solidarity, NGOs page
• Sites that fit into the categories already defined for our site – see the menu, left. We are, however, always happy to consider other possible categories

What criteria do we use for including sites in our directory?

• Besides having to fall into at least one of the above categories, we only include sites that we have used personally or which come highly recommended to us by others whose judgement we trust – with in fact only a small number of sites falling into this latter category
• We exclude from our directory sites whose quality of content or design is poor
• We also exclude any site that is political in nature

Webmasters please note:

• We do not include sites merely in order to exchange links with other sites. If your site does not meet the criteria given above, we will not include you
• While doing so might improve our placings in the search engines, we feel that it might also detract from the quality of the information we provide
• Additionally, we will not include other Barcelona directories linking to many of the same sites we do unless they also provide links to a significant number of other sites we do not link to – or unless they are providing other content of interest
